My last post was in the beginning of March – between then and now I was on vacation and when I came back, I got very busy with a house renovation that I am involved with. But I did get a little time to get some paint on canvas to create “Crossroads in Blue”.
The story behind this painting was inspired by 2 specific inspirations.
The first inspiration was my recent mentorship with Sarah Sedwick that exposed me to painting with a limited palette of one color to convey a monochromatic melancholic mood as Pablo Picasso did when in his “Blue Period”.
The 2nd inspiration came from the movie that recently came out, “Nosferatu”. There were scenes in the movie that conveyed that monochromatic mood of despair and uncertainty of fate in which road to take. If you have seen that movie those scenes will speak to you with one color blue and shades of blue to instill that mood, a brilliant cinematic effect.
Enjoy
“Crossroads in Blue”
